Just a quick update before I nap before work. It's been a week since I started the clean eating and it's had its ups and downs. I would have to say that I definitely adhered to the 80/20 rule that Jillian Michaels preaches.
I ate all whole foods, no refined sugars or "white" foods (pasta, rice, sugar, etc) with the exception of my coffee mate creamer that I am NOT giving up.
I had one dinner where I ate a hotdog (no bun), tater tots, and a serving of mac and cheese. I had one dessert of chocolate cake with light peanut butter icing.
The rest of the week I ate eggs, cheese, 4% cottage cheese, fruit, veggies, chicken, brown rice, steak, hamburgers (no bun), and protein shakes with 2% milk as meal replacement. I had grits and butter on the days I worked before sleep. That's pretty much it. I made my own Bistro boxes with added veggies and no scone. I ate whole grain bread twice.
I'm actually pretty proud of myself. I didn't see any change but would there really be any change after only a week? I'm going to continue with the clean food and this week I'm adding in more work out consistency.
Today: 2.75 mile run (hill)
Saturday: rest day (walk the dog for active rest)
Sunday: 7 mile long run
Monday: Hike (cross training)
Tuesday: 3 mile run (working)
Wednesday: rest day (working)
Thursday: Jillian DVD
Friday: 5 mile run
I leave for vacation in 10 days so I just want to stay consistent until then. Traveling will wreak havok on my I'm sure.
That's it for now. I know this one is boring but you gotta take the good with the bad haha.
Have a great Friday!
